Dr. Olaniyan Olugbemi Tope,  Dean, Basic Medical Sciences

 

Dr. Olaniyan Olugbemi Tope is a distinguished faculty member at the OICNM and a Senior Lecturer at Kwara State University, Malete. As part of our esteemed faculty, Dr. Olaniyan brings a wealth of knowledge, extensive research experience, and an unwavering commitment to advancing the fields of Physiology, Biotechnology, and Clinical Embryology.

 

Dr. Olaniyan's educational journey is marked by excellence at every turn. With a Bachelor's degree in Physiology from the University of Ilorin, and both Master's and Ph.D. degrees from the prestigious University of Ibadan, he set the bar high early on in his career. His relentless pursuit of knowledge also led him to obtain additional qualifications in Clinical Embryology & Assisted Reproductive Medicine from India and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Nigeria.

 

As an expert in the field of Applied Physiology, Clinical Embryology, and Biotechnology, Dr. Olaniyan has carved a niche for himself in the academic world. His forte in Neuroscience, Reproduction and Infertility, and natural products research is recognised globally.

 

With over 160 articles published, Dr. Olaniyan's research outputs are monumental. His work encompasses over 58 scientific papers and 100 book chapters, and numerous conference reports, showcasing his dedication to contributing to the scientific community.

 

He was ranked No 9 in the prestigious 2024 Top 500 Authors by Scholarly Output for his research acumen and writing prowess, having been earlier ranked No 64.

 

Beyond his research, Dr. Olaniyan has guided over 34 graduate students and co-supervised several postgraduate candidates, shaping the next generation of scientists and researchers. His leadership roles extend to being the South-South Coordinator for the Nigeria Bioinformatics and Genomics Network (NBGN) and an active member of the Physiological Society of Nigeria (PSN), among others.

 

Dr. Olaniyan is an integral part of the scientific community not only through his research but also by serving on editorial boards and as a peer reviewer for international journals, including:
